Cannabinoids, a class of chemical compounds, are part of the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is present in all animals, including humans. As part of this system, cannabinoids bind receptors to regulate diverse physiological processes. While scientific research is ongoing, the endocannabinoid system has been shown to play a role in pain regulation, inflammatory responses, metabolism, neural disorders, seizures, cognitive processes, sleep, appetite, and mood.
Natural cannabinoids are present in the bodies of animals (endocannabinoids) or in hemp and cannabis plants (phytocannabinoids). Synthetic cannabinoids are manufactured artificially and are not present in nature.
We produce rare, natural cannabinoids
Cannabidiol (CBD), the primary cannabinoid extracted from hemp, and D9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary cannabinoid extracted from cannabis, remain the most recognizable and commercially available cannabinoids. However, there are over 100 other cannabinoids present in extractions from these plants. Due to their low natural concentrations, the isolation, commercialization, and scientific research of these cannabinoids have been stalled.
Maku Technologies focuses on producing rare cannabinoids. All of our cannabinoids are natural, federally legal, and available for commercial products and scientific research.
CBD is the primary cannabinoid isolated from hemp plants, but there are over 100 rare cannabinoids also present.
